Fee for Individual Consultation with Warwick

Individual session – $222*

Medicare Rebate – $137.05 (as of 1 November, 2023)

*Please note the APS National Schedule of Recommended Fees 2023-2024 has the standard 46 to 60-minute consultation fee set at $300.

Duration of Sessions

A standard therapy session runs for 50 minutes, although there are circumstances where a one and a half session (75 minutes) or a double session (100 minutes) is allocated to allow enough time for particular therapeutic exercises.

 

Available Session Times

Warwick typically works business hours of 9am – 5pm on weekdays (AEST– Australian time for overseas clients), although there are times he opens up early evenings, mornings and weekend appointments to help with demand.

Please note that weekend appointments are not standard practice, and availability for weekday appointments is likely to be necessary.

As of 21 November 2023, Warwick will be available for face to face sessions on Palmers Island, near Yamba, NSW on Tuesdays, and from 2024 Wednesdays aswell.

Is referral required?

You do not need a referral for a psychology consultation, but if you want to receive a Medicare rebate, you will need a referral from your GP through a Mental Health Care Plan. Otherwise, you can book an appointment and pay the full fee.

 

Private Health Fund Rebates

It is important to verify your coverage and eligibility with your private health fund to determine if rebates apply. Upon completion of your session, Life’skool will provide you with a receipt that you can submit to your funder for reimbursement or claim purposes.

 

 

Medicare - Mental Health Care Plan Details

Warwick’s qualification as a registered Clinical Psychologist activates the option for clients to access a Medicare rebate for sessions (Australian clients only). Clinical Psychology rebates for 50-55 minutes sessions are $136.35 (as of 1 July, 2023), leaving you out of pocket $85.65, providing you have a Mental Health Care Plan from your General Practitioner (GP).

10 sessions of Medicare-rebated individual psychology sessions are available each calendar year. Medicare rebates are credited to your nominated bank account typically within 24-48 hours of consultation.

To ensure a smooth financial process, medicare rebates will be processed on the day of your session with Warwick. Don’t worry about the paperwork hassle, as the payment will be electronically sent to Medicare to expedite your rebate. To make this happen seamlessly, it’s important to have your bank details registered with Medicare.

Updating your bank details with Medicare is a breeze, and you have multiple options to choose from. Here are a few ways you can get it done:

Cancellation, Booking and Payment Policies

Appointment Rescheduling

Clients are welcome to cancel or reschedule their appointments with no charge, as long as they provide at least one full working day’s notice prior to the appointment time. You can either call us or if you have set up an appointment through our client portal, you can make changes to your appointments there.

 

Cancellation Policy

If you cancel within one full working day of your appointment, you will incur a cancellation fee that equates to 50% of the consultation fee. Please note that this policy also applies if you cancel on a Friday for a following Monday appointment.

Clients who cancel on the day of their appointment or fail to attend without prior notice will be charged the full consultation fee (100%) for the missed appointment.

Please note that Medicare does not cover any percentage of cancellation fee costs.

To book a face-to face appointment at his consulting rooms in Palmers Island, NSW, please call us on (02) 6646 7876.

For new clients, you will need to complete a New Client Form and an Informed Consent form before your first appointment. These forms can be accessed through the links provided in your  appointment confirmation email.

Please note that failure to complete these forms prior to your first appointment may result in the session being cancelled.

You will receive the following communications once your appointment has been confirmed:

1. An email confirming your appointment

2. A reminder SMS 48 hours before your scheduled appointment where you can respond yes to confirm or no to cancel.
